"Wrong Desires Creates Blockages"

The chapter in Sefer Shinuyim called "לא תחמוד" - "don't desire that which belongs to someone else", explains the spiritual importance of the 10th Commandment from the "Ten Commandments" that were inscribed on stone and given to Moses (Moshe Rabeinu) at Mount Sinai.

  לא-תחמד אשת רעך, ועבדו ואמתו ושורו וחמרו, וכל, אשר לרעך

"Thou shalt not desire thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not desire thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s." ( Shmos Exodus chapter 20 verse 13)

The meaning of "Desire" - לא תחמוד

The 10th Commandment, teaches a person not to DESIRE something that belongs to someone else. The spiritual law teaches that the wrong emotional thoughts of DESIRE create energies within ones soul, that can have effects that mislead, divert and block a person from their true "DESTINY".

The essence of "DESIRE" is a powerful emotional and thought energy in wanting to live someone elses life, in other words a person is trying to steal by "transference" someone elses life and destiny. The "DESIRE" thoughts, not only block a persons soul but also cause unhealthy disruption in the other persons life one is trying to steal, especially if they are not closed or protected spiritually.

Strong emotional "Desires"

Everything we do in this life is motivated by our emotions and desires. Before we do anything, the foundation of the decision of whether or not we do it, is based on our emotions and desires.

The power and strength of "desire" feelings and emotions, directly reflects the power, strength of ones soul and most importantly the ability to succeed. The reason most people fail in life is that they take a non-committal attitude of "half-heartedness", their "heart" is not committed emotionally to their actions.

Only the very emotionally committed person will have success. A committment to anything comes from focusing ones thoughts, and motivating oneself by activating ones emotions to "feel" alive with a desire for success.

All emotions carry energy, whether they be destructive emotions such as hatred, jealousy, selfish greed, fears of poverty, humiliation, embarrassment, fight for survival OR whether they be constructive emotions such as compassion, desires to be kind, desires to fulfill ones purposeful soulful aims and ambitions in selfless service to GOD and humanity, creative, or the most powerful and life-giving creative emotion on this planet - LOVE.

The most powerful aspect of a persons mind and spirit soul is the strength of "DESIRE"

The strength of ones emotions and desires will provide one with the power to connect and achieve ones desires. The first step in acquiring anything is a desire, this thought of desire is then translated into speech and action to acquire the object of ones "desires".

Bad people use their emotions - "desires" of greed to steal or steal energy by "transference" from sensitive people who are "open" and whom allow these bullies and intimidators to steal their souls energy. The person with the stronger "desires" will always succeed, even if those "desires" are not good and destructive! In such a case if in the short term it seems that the hateful and destructive energy is winning, this is because they survive by stealing life-energy from the good people.

Eventually when all the good people have closure and identify the source of negative and draining energy as "bad", then they will fail and the good, loving, kind and compassionate will always win. This is simply spiritual law and the reason is that the creative God-given energy of life and vitality on earth is LOVE, and LOVE is life, hate is death.

יניקה מלמעלה - Souls life Energy

The "desire" of LOVE has the strongest strength on earth. This desire is the key, the motivational and emotional energy that provides ones soul with vitality.

Our spiritual souls life energy is known as יניקה מלמעלה - Yeneeka Milmaala, this is a souls spiritual nourishment of vitality which energises the physical body, with this energy one has life, without it - death. Hence, if one is depressed, on the wrong pathway, or has blockages, then the יניקה מלמעלה - Yeneeka Milmaala, is blocked.

Blockages caused by wrong "DESIRES"

On the "Destiny" page we explained that every person has a destined business, home and loving soulmate. If one does not have any of these aspects then this is considered a major blockage and needs to be understood. ( as we explained on the previous pages Blocking Success, Fear of Success and No Money).

The other main reason for a major blockage in ones lifes "destiny" is the fact that one has either lost ones soul energy by "transference" (in which case - it is returned quickly as explained on the page Loss by "transference"). OR ones souls energy is blocked due to "WRONG DESIRES" and therefore is LOST or DIVERTED due the fact one is "giving away" or wasting energy on someone or something that is NOT ones destiny.

Where are your thoughts?

Your soul is connected to the place and people where your thoughts are, which is connected, motivated and energised by your deepest emotions, especially to whom you love and where your desires are aroused.

Whether love or hate, positive or negative emotions, this energy and connection of ones thoughts, makes a connection of attachment. If that attachement is your destiny - then this creates a life vitality and energising spiritual energy of even more יניקה מלמעלה - Yeneeka Milmaala, as ones soul on a higher level recognises this as ones destiny. If however, this is "NOT YOUR DESTINY", it will give a person a thrill of excitement like a petulant child doing something mischeviously naughty BUT one will feel drained and eventually blocked.

Reading the Signposts

Life always offers signposts and indications, if this is ones destiny - a blessing of success accompanies the connection, if one is stealing or taking from someone else then a loss, damage, accidents or pain will be incurred. These blockages are not punishments nor are they caused by anyone but YOUR own soul. Your soul blocks your lifes energy WHEN and ONLY WHEN you are on the wrong pathway.

Everyone has their own solution to their own problems, think honestly and carefully, and ask GOD and spirit world and your guardian angels for guidance , and one will be led to the correct pathway for you.

"Correctional" school of life

In the same way, thieves go to prison or "correctional" facilities to learn the lesson that they should NOT take anything that belongs to someone else, life and ones experiences are here to teach this lesson too !

If one has had a mid-life crisis and recognises truthfully that one has made so many mistakes by living a false lifestyle, this may even be a spouse and career that is simply not the true destiny of ones soul. Then "lifes" experiences will create the necessary, (even if tremendously painful), experiences of losing everything that is wrong in ones life, in order to put a person on the correct pathway.

Getting a new life

Once a person is truthful in recognising the signs that their soul had no vitality as it had been blocked due to the fact that they had the "wrong" life and the "wrong destiny". Once a person releases and lets go of the "wrong", ones prayers are answered and one can then receive the energy and vitality for the correct pathway.

The new life will come when and ONLY when deep down in ones soul, one has truthfully changed and let go of the past mistakes and stops the wrong urges of "desire".

to make mistakes to learn

In the Book of Reincarnation - Sefer Gilgulim by Reb Chaim Vital teaches that our soul intentially puts us in difficult and "wrong" situations to teach us this lesson of the 10th Commandment - "NOT to desire that which belongs to someone else".

Once we have accepted this truth and learnt the lesson, our soul will feel enlightened, releasing any draining blockages and giving us our TRUE destiny, with our true soulmate, destined home and destined purpose in life with a glow of physical and spiritual vitality.

Having "Desires" for something that is not your destiny - "wastes away" your souls energy.

"Stop wasting energy in desiring something thats not yours!" This is such a silly waste of ones souls energy. Our soul energy is given to us to help us fulfill with excitement and vitality our individual purpose in life, if we are diverting and giving that energy away, we are damaging our own soul.

This is especially true in a marriage with ones true soulmate:- "how can a person have wasteful fantasies thining of other men or women?" These thoughts, especially if they are aroused sexual energy are draining a persons soul, and will act as destructive and "blocking energy" even if one is with ones true soulmate.

Marriage problems - a "blockage"

The Sefer Tikunim - the book of corrections, explains the reason that even the perfect soulmate relationships have marriage problems (even to the extent of divorce) is that the couple do not consider the fact that they are each a half of a whole unit.

A man and woman together form a unit, each is a half of one whole. If either of the couple think emotionally and (God forbid sexually) about another person then this acts to break even a destined soulmate, as the other persons soul senses this and acts to BLOCK, as explained in עיכוּבי חמדה above .

The other half in the soulmate acts to preserve the collective unit of the souls energy and blocks the energy יניקה מלמעלה - Yeneeka Milmaala, whilst the other half is diverting emotional and sexual energy elsewhere. (If one partner has indeed been unfaithful physically sexually and nt just "thought energy", then the complete closure and divorce is necessary).

In the case where a soulmate couple have neglected each other in wasting "thought energy" of desires, then Sefer Tikunim - the book of corrections, explains the solution is simple, the one who has diverted his/her sexual thought energy elsewhere to someone else, needs to recognise this is wrong and STOP immediately. They both need to understand that they are a single UNIT, if one half is in pain the other feels the pain.

Then the "other half" needs to learn the lesson of forgiveness and open up the blockage they blocked whilst the other was unfaithful in their thoughts, which has caused a "coldness" in their marriage. Sefer Gilgulim explains that the "injured" husband/ wife may have caused the original problem by being selfish or unloving in the relationship. Hence both reincarnated to learn the lesson.

From the chapter "לא תחמוד" in Sefer Shinuyim, we add a special point for our generation. With respect to arousing desires for popstars, actors, actresses etc, this emotional connection of "desire" for someone whom is NOT a persons destiny, will only detract from ones soul energy and act to BLOCK one from ever meeting ones true soulmate.

Simply STOP desiring and wasting ones thoughts of fantasy on someone whom is not ones destiny, then focus ones energy and prayers spiritually on unblocking ones life vitality יניקה מלמעלה - Yeneeka Milmaala, to welcome in good fortune that is ones destiny.

This is one of the reasons why so many spiritually sensitive people, spiritual teachers and Rebbes do not have Television, as the images one sees entices a person to DESIRE and WANT with emotions, something or someone that is not their destiny, creating a blockage to life and destiny.

"Sefer Shinuyim - the book of Changes" always suggests to anyone trying to change, to try for 30 days to do without anything that one feels one is addicted to, which is abusive and arouses emotions of desire. (And that includes in our generation, watching TV, alcohol addictions, smoking cigarettes and even excessive unhealthy eating especially of chocolate ice- cream!).

This teaches us the power that ones emotional thoughts can cause such damage, hence the importance of the 10th Commandment - NEVER DESIRE anything that is NOT YOURS.

The most significant influences in our lives that make an impression on our souls, are the influences that arouse the emotions. Focus and control ones mind and thoughts energy in allowing oneself, to ONLY be emotional aroused for everything purposeful and spiritually fulfilling that is in alignment for ones souls pathway and destiny.
