מלאכת שמים , Selfless Service , עבודת השם In following the spiritual "Pathway to Enlightenment" as explained in the Book of Daniel and Sefer Shinuyim, one of the most important changes of spiritual growth of ones soul in this physical world is elevating ones souls existence from the 3rd Level of "Neshama נשמה" that is a giver/taker/creator of energy of an individual person into the 4th Level of ones Soul "Chaya - חיה" which makes ones soul an open channel of spiritual enlightenment of DIVINE energy that flows through ones soul. In this chapter Selfless Service and in the chapters of "Void Filling" and "Spiritual Teachers" we will learn that as one has become spiritually enlightened and fully connected with ones mind, thoughts and soul to the enlightened eternal Divine spiritual world then one MUST lose any selfish desires or any individualistic identity that is associated with this materialistic physical world. Then one can sustain ones soul on the 4th Level enabling one to rise to the 5th Level of יחידה ONENESS with GOD. An enlightened person whom has worked upon elevating their soul by eliminating the negative emotions, exuding positive emotions and connecting with the Spirit world automatically becomes at one with the Universe and thoroughly feels enlivened and energized by the constant connection with the eternal Spiritual world of souls with a strong desire to serve and bestow - משפיע Mashpi'a - a spiritual kindness to helping lost souls find the spiritual light. The Challenge of the 4th Level of ones Soul "Chaya - חיה" is to be Focused-on Always Being a Selfless Spiritual Channel of Enlightened Energy This level of Spirituality where one acts as a continuous spiritual channel to bring down spiritual enlightened life energy from the realms of the spirit world to his physical world is known as "Chaya - חיה" as is explained by Reb Chaim Vital in the Book of Reincarnation of Soul in the chapter "The Five Levels of Spiritual Souls Existence in our Physical Body" ; it should be noted that it takes up to 7 years of spiritual molding to make it to this level of spirituality; nontheless everyone in the whole world has the potential and freewill choice to choose a spiritually enlightened life of "Chaya - חיה". The start and basis of raising ones spiritual soul to an enlightened pathway is to be of 100% selfless service; and don't worry about not having enough strength and energy - as soon as one starts by being committed spiritually then GOD and Spirit world will ensure one has everything one needs; in fact when one acts as a selfless channel of infinite spiritual energy one is actually given more energy to fullfill ones service. In this chapter called "מלאכת שמים Selfless Service עבודת השם" we shall explain the following 4 points:- 1. Meaning of Selfless Service עבודת ה and the meaning of being "in service" to GOD מלאכת שמים. Understanding that in this physical life in order to feel fulfilled we need to serve something or someone external to ourselves, the higher the entity we serve the greater the energy flows through our souls. 2. Selfless service transforms ones soul from a giver/taker into one of a spiritual channel of energy flowing through ones soul, thereby one becomes part of GOD and a greater spiritual ONENESS with the Eternal Divine Spiritual world. Understanding that the ONLY way a persons soul can elevate spiritually is by transforming from a giver/taker into a channel by "Selfless Service" to GOD for the benefit of all of mankind. 3. Understanding why it is that ONLY a humble person can serve GOD; and the explanation of why only a non-materialistic person can be spiritual; the richest spiritual souls are the poorest materialistically/financially. 4. Learning not to get "involved" with materialistic non spiritual people by learning to stay calm through being "detached & aloof" of individual self and conversely being attached to peaceful spiritually enlightened people by connecting with ones thoughts spiritually with GOD. The 2 polarized worlds do exist side-by-side but one needs to remain focused on which "world" is more important to you - the physical or the spiritual world. Selfish people focus on and believe this physical world is more important even if they have glimpses of a more spiritual existence; whereas selfless people focus on and believe the eternal spiritual world is more important even if they have moments of physical materialism; this is simply the equation of balancing a spiritual life in a physical world. This freewill choice to decide where ones heart is more focused upon; the physical or the spiritual - this is the freewill choice of everyone's soul during this journey of "life" on earth. When the time is right for ones soul one will see that it is so fulfilling, peaceful and enjoyable to be living the Spiritual pathway of a life of "Selfless Service" to GOD, instead of serving earthly physical short term selfish desires like an immature child. 1. Meaning of Selfless Service עבודת ה The true meaning of "Selfless Service עבודת ה" is recognising the ONLY reason one is alive is in order to be "in service" to GOD מלאכת שמים is to emulate GOD. The spiritually enlightened soul feels that if one was not in selfless service then there would be point in living and it would be time to leave this world and pass over to spirit world. Such an attitude of mind only usually comes when people have had a life-threatening experience; when a person suddenly becomes enlightened to recognize the gift of every second of life; out of thanks to GOD for the gift of life a person devotes themselves to the selfless service of others. However people whom have found the spiritually enlightened pathway arrive at this conclusion by themselves as ones soul instinctively recognizes the need for ones own soul to serve GOD out of THANKS to GOD for the gift of life. When a person feels the energy of true LOVE a person will do anything and everything out of LOVE; the highest and most idealistic energy LOVE we can have is a LOVE of GOD out of thanks and sincere appreciation for the gift of life with all the goodness we are given each and every second of everyday. This awakens a persons soul with a strong desire to serve GOD selflessly. Free, Incognito & Hidden נסתר The highest level of "Selfless Service" is that everything one does is done without any financial reward, without any recognition, without any pursuit nor desire to be "famous". To the extent that no-one in the world knows what you do, nor when you do it, nor do you identify yourself for doing anything good, and everything good one does - one does completely INCOGNITO. When a person arrives at this spiritually enlightened level, one simply considers oneself to be an "extension" of the eternal DIVINE GOD, a 100% committed "instrument" and selfless servant of GOD; such a spiritually enlightened person feels humble to have been blessed with the gifts to be a selfless servant of GOD and spirit world, that ones soul has risen to be so close to the eternal Divine Spiritual world. This is known as arriving at the גן עדן התחתון "Garden of Eden" of this world; as Sefer Shinuyim explains that גן עדן התחתון "the Garden of Eden" is indeed the hidden idyllic and peaceful enlightened spiritual world of souls, with its wonderfully peaceful energy through the connection in ones mind, thoughts and soul. Ones soul is elevated in ones mind to be in "גן עדן התחתון "the Garden of Eden" - "Heaven" even whilst ones physical body is on earth. This is the perfection that every enlightened soul seeks whilst on earth.

"Selfless Service" Elevates & Transforms Ones Soul from a Giver & Taker of Energy into a Soul that is a Spiritual Channel of Eternal Infinite Divine Energy Selfless service transforms ones soul from a giver/taker into one of a spiritual channel of energy flowing through ones soul, thereby one becomes part of GOD and a greater spiritual ONENESS with the Eternal Divine Spiritual world. All interaction of everyone living in this world is through a giving & taking energy; there is a continual interaction with everyone in everything we do in our lives by one person giving and another person taking. On that level that is why some people cheated or drained because other people have taken from them; or conversely a person feels good as one has just taken energy from someone. This is a simple fact of living life. However spiritually enlightened people dont operate in the same way as other people; there is no giving & taking, hence there is no depletion in energy and neither feels drained by the interaction with each other. This is because a spiritually enlightened person's soul is acting as a spiritual channel of infinite energy from the eternal Divine spiritual realms which transcends through their soul to Maspi'a משפיע energize many peoples lives and souls. This is the ONLY way a persons soul can elevate to be spiritually enlightened by transforming from being a giver/taker into a spiritual channel by "Selfless Service" to GOD for the benefit of all of mankind. Enabling a whole new infinite world of energy to open up and be available for the spiritually enlightened soul.
3. Only a Humble Person Can Serve GOD Understanding why it is that ONLY a humble person can serve GOD; and the explanation of why only a non-materialistic person can be spiritual; the richest spiritual souls are the poorest materialistically/financially. People whom need to be in control to such an extent that they are often authoritarian, will not and cannot bring themselves to believe that there is a DIVINE GOD that created this infinite Universe; their arrogance and denial prevents their soul from opening up spiritually. People whom have developed their selfish behaviour from childhood to be greedy for personal power and control over other people, and whom live off other peoples energy through argression, intimidation, or even theft from others through deceit and manipulation are by their actions denying the existence of GOD, denying the spiritual accountability to GOD for ones actions cause their own spiritual progress to enlightenment. This is a blatant denial of any existence of GOD - so its impossible that these people would even wish to servce GOD; conversely poor people with pure selfless thoughts have desires to perfect their soul to serve GOD. תזהרוּ מבני עניים שמהם תצא תוֹרה Talmud Nedarim 81a "Be careful of poor people because from them true Spiritual Torah learning will come" A poor child / person does not have the money to waste traveling or occupying themselves with materialistic time-wasting pursuits. So they appreciate the free things in life, especially learning from the books and growing spiritually. Rabbi Avigdor Miller quoted the scientist Albert Einstein's Law of Physics that "NO TWO OBJECTS CAN OCCUPY THE SAME SPACE"; which means that if ones head and thoughts are full of computer games, television, cars, food, going out to time-wasting amusements for the evening or at weekends, or finding ways to make more money, then one simply physically cannot have any room left in ones mind for spirituality. "One Who is Wealthy Materialistically Cannot Enter the Spiritual World" "One who is wealthy materialistically cannot enter the spiritual world" is not a statement that forbids or blocks wealthy people from being spiritual but the fact-of-life is that one whom is attached to materialism finds it difficult to let go from the physical material world in favour of a spiritually enlightened pathway. Its just a fact-of-life. That is why those people who are poor financially and have few distractions such as television etc., really do appreciate the spirituality of life, as they will indeed raise their souls and the souls of their children to the highest spiritual level to be of perfect selfless service to GOD. In our modern society the poorest people in the poorest countries are often the most kindest warm-hearted and generous, whereas the arrogant selfish "rich" whom live a secluded selfish life alone cannot adjust their minds and souls to think of others selflessly. Their souls have blocked their own way to spiritual enlightenment. It really is so easy to serve GOD spiritually selflessly when one has so few earthly time-wasting distractions. Understanding the Meaning of "Humility" "Humility" is a complete way of life whereby a humble person continually lives with the knowledge that there is someone somewhere more important than they. The knowledge that there is A HIGHER someone above us and it is our duty to serve the HIGHER being before taking care of their own needs, as we explained in the Chapter of "Life of Compassion". The more humble a person is then the more a person wishes to SERVE, even to the extent of neglecting ones own desires and needs, in the "Selfless Service" of other people. A Humble Person Desires to Serve A humble person always desires and wishes to serve the needs of other people first before looking after themselves. They consider other peoples needs are much more important to be fulfilled than their own. Humble people are always selfless as they consider themselves as servants of GOD, being placed on earth to help fulfill and serve the needs of other people. A humble person is satisfied with whatever they have in life, they are always content and always appreciative of everything that occurs in their lives, knowing and trusting in GOD, that even if they are being "taken advantage of" by unscrupulous people, they will always be saved from bad people and bad situations. "The Thoughts of a Humble Person" A humble person never needs to show any anger or aggression to acquire anything, as they intrinsically know and believe that if it is their "destiny" then it will be theirs, if it is not their "destiny" then the rightful person will acquire it. The converse is of the greedy selfish person who constantly shows aggression in order to get and keep what they want, even if it "NOT their destiny", even though they have the feeling and are aware that it will be taken away from them eventually, they still want to steal and take something that belongs to someone else. A humble person knows that GOD will always provide whatever they need, therefore there is never any need to lie, cheat, manipulate or play any of the games that people play in order to control other peoples lives to get what they want for their own selfish benefit. A humble person always trusts in GOD to get what they need at the time they need it. "The Attitude of a Humble Person" A humble person constantly has attitudes and thoughts like, "I'm glad that i am nobody important", and "Am i taking too much space and not being thoughtful for other people, how much space do i really need?" and "Why should i get upset by someone who is angry against me, its their problem in life, i have done my best" and "who cares if someone has upset me!" The humble persons constantly looks at physical life as a short journey for our soul, and provided one has ones soul, inner thoughts and connections with GOD and spirit world, then there is nothing anyone can do to hurt, steal, damage or destroy, as these destructive adjectives only apply to physical materialism. Whereas spiritually nothing can be destroyed or stolen, therefore a humble person ALWAYS feels safe and secure, with an inner peace of mind and knowledge that they are connected with the eternal GOD. Humble People - Talk Softly Firstly the humble person recognises that they are constantly in the presence of the eternal DIVINE GOD, and in the presence of many spiritual Guardian Angels, therefore a humble person always talks respectfully and quietly. When a person recognises the power of speech and that the eternal spiritual realms are listening to ones speech and prayers, one becomes careful with ones words, never wasting energy talking about superficial or meaningless subjects. מה אומנותו של אדם בעולם הזה "What is the job of everyone in this physical world ? Learn to keep quiet - Shtum!" The Talmud in Chulin 89a explains this spiritual advice, that we must look at life as a lifelong job where we need to learn to value the power of speech, to the extent that if we cannot say anything constructive then we should keep quiet/shtum. A humble person will always be extremely careful with the power of speech, living with the knowledge that the eternal spiritual world is listening to every word said. Understanding that "Humility" is the Key to Serving GOD A humble person is constantly looking for ways to serve other people, to serve the Eternal Divine spiritual world with a focus of serving GOD. Understanding the Spiritual Value and Importance of "Humility" ענוה מביאה לידי רוח הקדש The book "MesillasYeshorim מסילת ישרים" from the Talmud Sota 49a explains that once a person has mastered "Humility", then intrinsically the nature of the person is to be 100% spiritually enlightened, constantly connected to ones Guardian Angels and constantly praying for ways to help other people. This constant spiritual awareness and desire to pray for other people with compassion brings a person closer to GOD and to spiritual world which will eventually open a persons soul to the highest level of DIVINE inspiration leading to a level of Oneness with GOD with the spiritual enlightenment that change peoples lives for the better.

It is human nature that we all live in the physical materialistic world when we are young and childish; the wise and intelligent grow-up and see the futility of physical desires, energy wasting greed and jealousy and the pointlessness in believing in the be-all-and-end-all of a physical-only world. Each and every person uses their freewil choice to then change to think more spiritually and then the remainder of our lives we are all striving for spiritual perfection to prepare our soul for the eternal Divine spiritual world. It is in the "midlife" years of everyones life that one is confronted with the choice physical or spiritual ? The freewill choice is ours - either a belief in an infinite eternal DIVINE spiritual world or denial of the truth and confine ones existence to a futile physical only world without hope or faith. Strengthening Our Spiritual Enlightened Pathway "Selfless Service" helps us understand, reaffirms and strengthens our spiritually enlightened pathway which in turn lights the way to brings ones soul to the 5th Level of Soul existence in this world to יחידה a constant state of "Oneness - יחידה Yechida" with GOD, with the possibilities of bringing healing to peoples souls.
