"The Ability to Change" מה שלא יעשה השכל .... יעשה הזמן "For everything that the intellect cannot accomplish - then time will succeed to accomplish" Philosophy of ability to change ones life from Sefer Shinuyim Teaching a child to walk Every single baby learns to walk , this is a simple fact of life . The young child does not take lessons in walking nor goes to a school where walking is taught !! The Child learns by itself, the child looks, observes and tries to copy the adults it sees . It sees everyone in the world standing up on two feet, so it has a vision that it is possible, and more importantly, the child is 100% certain that it will soon be able to stand on two feet just like everyone else . This initial experience of life is carried through all experiences of life . Instinctively we know that there is "nothing new under the sun" . Our life experiences have been experienced by someone somewhere in the world , and hence when we are looking for help, we look to someone whom has experienced life, someone who has been through everything and succeeded in life's challenges . However painful and however many times the child falls down and even hurts itself, the child will NEVER give up the pursuit of learning to walk . This is our lesson for our lives . Every change eventually happens , it is just a matter of time, hence the expression מַה שֶלא יַעַשֵה הַשֵכֶל .... יַעַשֶה הַזְמָן In time everything will be accomplished . It's just a matter of time, ofcourse there are some things that are not meant to happen and no matter how much time - will never happen . To work out the deciphering difference we shall discuss later on this page - in the paragraph of "SIGNS" . Ability to change On this page we shall discuss three points:- 1. Understanding that everyone has the inherent gift and potential to change, learning to believe in oneself, achieving self-confidence, trust and faith in GOD . 2. The basic spiritual rules one needs, in order to remain focused and succeed in changing, making the major transitions in life comfortably with the minimum of worry, pain or blockages- עיכובים . Learning to change with an outlook of happiness, enjoyment and love of life . 3. Spiritual understanding, knowledge and methods in gaining extra "Divine" and "Spiritual help" to change and succeed in life .
1. Confidence, Faith & Trust Understanding that everyone has the inherent gift and potential to change, learning to believe in oneself, achieving self-confidence, trust and faith in GOD . All levels of change are basically similar experiences, just on different levels . In hindsight anyone who has been through each stage successfully looks back and sees how simple the stage was . Like a anyone who reflects on early stages of trying to walk as a baby or riding a bicycle, will laugh at the fact that there was a time when they kept falling down . "There's nothing new under the sun" - אין כל חדש תחת השמש from Book of Kohelles by King Solomon chapter 1 verse 9 Likewise every stage of life one is currently experiencing, there is 100% certainty that someone has experienced this before . Whether it be the insecurity of finding a job, finding love, responsibility and commitment of marriage, trauma or "relief" of divorce, death of a loved one or simply a mid-life crisis, in which one feels a fool that one has wasted ones life pursuing a futile selfish existence and one wants to change, but "thinks" it will be too messy and difficult . Every possible and conceivable "difficult" situation has been experienced by someone somewhere before you, they succeeded in changing so this should reassure you that you can succeed . For example, when one goes through a divorce believing that one will never find love again, it is accepted fact of life that everyone whom has loved once will love again . The main reason a person fails is because of a lack of self confidence and belief in ones abilities . If we look at every situation in life and compare it to a child learning to walk . Then we should feel reassured that EVERY PROBLEM has a SOLUTION , provided we stay focused , learn the lessons properly , take good advice in overcoming the difficulties . Most importantly we MUST have the strength and confidence that we will succeed . Having trust and confidence in GOD that everything will be fine . What are the reasons for a lack of self - confidence ? The lack of self confidence is the single most important reason why people fail in life . The reasons for this malady of lack of self- confidence are simple : - " Brainwashing " Please see the chapter on "de-brainwashing" Firstly "brainwashing" - from an early age ones parents, deceitful friends and maybe the community or society one lives in, have constantly been giving one messages of "not being good enough", they have continually destructively criticized ones mistakes and never complimented or focused on ones achievements . This is especially true for children of parents who do not believe in GOD or have any good moral values of LOVE and KINDNESS . Often children brought up by abusive parents are very sensitive and lack confidence because of their parents bullying and intimidation . They need to get away from such evil parents, and also need to gain a self confidence, realizing that all the abusive brainwashing was their parents problem and "baggage", nothing to do with them . ( as we learn on the RESCUE page of this website the principal of TRANSFERENCE, that often evil people try to make good people look evil by transferring false lies and allegations against them ). Parents born in the generations from 1930 up to about 1950, ( and other parents from old fashioned, out-dated, rigid, unemotional insensitive and unloving families that continue this behaviour) are not intentionally critical, destructive or evil. They simply do not know any better . They were born at an exceedingly difficult and troubled time in the world, all around them was hatred, wars, death and destruction . They were not shown love by their parents nor did they have any time to learn and understand life spiritually in the same way that earlier and later generations have done . For many of that generation their whole existence focused on survival and materialism . Always believing and seeing the worst in life, this destructive and negative attitude many have passed onto their children . Its taking the next generation to undo the damage done by that selfish generation, in much the same way that our generation is physically clearing up the destructive mess of pollution and waste that was caused by that "non-thinking" and inconsiderate generation . Modern competitive society, also sends us messages of "not being good enough", whether it be our physical appearance and looks, our financial materialistic status that require us to go out and buy the latest gimmick gadgets to keep up with our friends as a "status" symbol of the materialistic society . When we understand exactly why we have been led to believe and have been brainwashing ourselves with repetitive messages of lack . Then we are in a position to actively use our mind and thoughts to change the way we think about ourselves . De-brainwashing, undoing and forgiving our negative teachers and parents ways, will help us rectify the damage done . Simply eliminating all the "brainwashing" and "destructive critical messages" sent to our brain and soul over all the years can undo the damage done . Then actively giving oneself the positive constructive words of "Hope , Love and Faith" will help to build a newborn attitude of confidence. We shall discuss this more on the page of "Positive Thinking" . Don't be afraid of failure !!! A lot of good failures are the main ingredient in the recipe for success. Mistake are the greatest of life's teachers "So what !" - if you fail - you can always try again !! We are not born perfect and the vast majority of people will not die perfect . We are expected to make mistakes in our lives . The more fruitful a persons life has become, is a sign that they have made more mistakes, learnt by their mistakes and are no longer afraid of failure . They live life to the fullest potential, unlike the opposite kind of person that does nothing constructive with their lives because they are constantly afraid of failure . Every person in the whole world makes mistakes, this is completely normal, in fact the more mistakes a person makes, provided the person makes the corrections, then the greater the person can become . " If you don't try - you won't succeed " This well known saying teaches the message, if one is frightened of living and frightened of failure, one is missing the chance of SUCCESS . So what - if you fail the first time and the second time , there is the saying "THIRD TIME LUCKY !! " Once accepts failure as a fact of life, and learns the lessons of failure, no longer being frightened of failure, by being honest with oneself, then one elevates ones character and soul with a strength of courage and bravery that one can achieve anything . Even and especially when "other people" continue to be destructively critical that the venture will fail . The strong and courageous person will continue to try and succeed , as their comments of his/her enemies are given no energy and negated altogether . The experience of failure one time will lead to success the next time . A well known fact is that most self-made millionaires have failed in at least two businesses in the past . They have used their experiences to finally bring success .
A Guarantee for Success בתר רישא גוּפא אזיל "Following the start , the main part follows" . As we explained (in the introduction page) from Reb Yehonossan Eibeshitz in his book Yaaros Devash (יערוֹת דבש ) that as one starts something new, the success is foretold by the foundations that are laid at the beginning . If one is 100% truthful, and ones thoughts very focused on the genuine reasons then the guarantee from GOD and spirit world is 100% success . This principle has deeper meaning, in the fact that the start of each week is Sunday - day one of creation, and yet the only nation that takes Sunday as a beginning of the week is Israel and jewish people . The energy and actions one does on a sunday reflects the type of week one is going to have . If one "sleeps in" having wasted the saturday night in "futile" activities of TV or "going out" then one can only expect a sleepy and wasteful week . Whereas if one utilizes the first day of the week in creative activity , then this will set the foundations for the whole week to be energized and "alive" ! To assure success in changing, is to admit that one has made mistakes . Be 100% honest with oneself . However painful and depressing a thought it maybe to acknowledge that ones life until now has been wrong and many mistakes made . By clearing out the past, by admitting ones mistakes, and being 100% truthful and careful with the power of ones speech is the spiritual guarantee for success . This includes being careful never to gossip or tell lies against anyone, this is an important rule for spiritual protection as taught by Reb Yidel Segal and the Chofetz Chaim . The saying is "one who laughs last - laughs longest" . Short minded people love to hurt others by gossiping lying and trying to ruin good peoples lives, in the short term they succeed in hurting, but in the long term they have miserable empty lives full of deceit and pain that they inflict upon themselves, as all the friends they have eventually turn on them . As we know " in the way one treats others - one is treated " - במדה שאדם מודד בה מודדין לוֹ .
Change by giving yourself "confidence" Set the foundation of your new changed character based on truth, think of all the good things you have done in your life . Speak to yourself with honesty and encouragement . Contemplate on all the peoples lives you have helped and how their lives would be different if you would not have been there to help . Congratulate yourself constructively for all your good deeds . One of the reasons why we love to help others is the feeling of purpose and aliveness that comes from the joy of "being appreciated" . So start by showing yourself appreciation and thanking yourself for all the goodness you have done . Especially, if you have done much for ungrateful people, who will never appreciate what you have done . So compensate their "attitude" for your words of encouragement to yourself . This will infuse an energy within you to motivate you to continue doing good deeds . Faith & Trust in GOD GOD will make a way where there is no way A person feels confident with themselves when they know that they are behaving correctly in life, with kindness, faith, love and trust in GOD . When a person knows that they are GOOD in the eyes of GOD, no matter what anyone gossips about them, it does not matter as GOD and spirit world know the truth, living with faith and trust in GOD will bring a person self reassurance that GOD will make a correct and protected way for you in your life even where there seems to be no way .
2. Spiritual laws for successful change The basic spiritual rules one needs, in order to remain focused and succeed in changing, making the major transitions in life comfortably with the minimum of worry, pain or blockages- עיכובים . Learning to change with an outlook of happiness, enjoyment and love of life .These are as follows :- 1. Be careful with your friends, don't connect with the deceitful . 2. Keep your intentions secret 3. Pray and Cry 4. Learn to forgive 5. Learn to LOVE 6. Learn to ACCEPT life and the changes with peace and happiness 1. אל תתחבר עם רשעים Don't connect with wicked people Hence the importance of seeking good friends and good examples to guide you along the correct pathway to make the changes in your life that your soul is yearning you to make, without being influenced by other people . As as we explained on the page of spirit and guidance from the Tana Devei Eliyahu that during maturity, a person develops their character into one of two groups of people . The first and most wonderful category is the HONEST group, which basically means when you are nice to them they are nice in return, when you are horrible to them they are horrible in return . When you ask them a question, you are given the honest answer in return . The intrinsic goodness of this group, will always make you feel alive and happy . When you hear something good has happened to anyone of this group, you feel their happiness as they exude a radiance that allows others to enjoy in their happiness . Conversely when something bad happens you feel their sorrow and pain .The honest group person, will always find ways to be nice and compliment, saying positive, constructive words, always looking for the goodness in people and will always exude, radiate love and happiness, even in the face of adversity . And will always have faith that everything will be alright. This group believe in GOD and spirit world on some level . They live and feel alive through a loving kind and creatively constructive energy . The other group of people in this world are the DECEITFUL (liars) people, which basically means when you are nice to them they are horrible in return, when you are horrible to them they are nice in return . When you ask them a question, you are given lies and deceit in return . The intrinsic deceit and twistedness of this group, will always make you feel drained and sad (unless you are of the same type - in which case you feel re-assured and happy mixing with them, as they will always end up gossiping and slandering good people, and re-assuring themselves that their lifestyle is the correct one ) . And when you hear something good has happened to anyone of this group, you feel a sadness or indifferent . When something bad happens to this group, you either feel happy or indifferent . The good thing about being in the honest group, is that in a short time of speaking to the other deceitful group, you "instinctively know" who they are, your guides and angelic helpers, give you the feeling . And in the conversation with them, they lie or contradict themselves and you catch them out . This is the protection given to the honest group by GOD . They are always focused on materialism, and will always talk about money, either how much they earn or what money can buy . And never discuss anything spiritual . A deceitful person will always lie, they cannot help themselves, it is natural for them . They are always caught out be the honest group of people . There will always be signs along the way, they may cheat of their husbands/wives, at work they will be lazy, sleeping on the job or time wasting etc ...basically they have no morals or ethical standards, and they don't trust anyone because they themselves are not to be trusted . This ability to categorize the two groups, is directly related to the page on change, as it is intrinsically human nature that when one has a problem in life one looks for good advice and to someone whom has successfully overcome the obstacles . Don't be fooled People who look confident and even "look religious" can be spiritually void . " Empty vessels make most noise " When problems and changes in life occur, we automatically look to others to "copy" their behaviour and become like them, that is making the false assumption that their way is correct . This is human instinct based on our early childhood from learning to walk . In later life, through different stages, we need to be able to listen to our true instincts to learn and know the difference between right and wrong . There are many people who look confident, intelligent and we assume they "know-it-all" because they are wealthy and even look seemingly "religious" . But in fact they have acquired their status by intimidation / bullying tactics, through lies deceit and swindling . Sadly they then become bad examples to others, who assume the only way to success is through aggressive intimidating and deceitful behaviour . This similarly applies to Rabbis and so called spiritual leaders who use "bullying" tactics to manipulate peoples minds- these people are spiritually empty . If one listens to ones intuition, intrinsically one "knows" the genuinely good advisors .
2. אין הברכה חל אלא על דבר הסמוּי מן העין "A true blessing only starts upon something that is hidden from the eye and private" In spirit law until an action is done, then other peoples negative thoughts can cancel out your thoughts and words . The one time you can break this rule is if you absolutely must tell just your mum or best friend , presuming they TRUTHFULLY only have your best interests at heart ! Even some friends and relatives, still have a "jealousy" factor, if you are more successful, happy, lucky or richer than they . They are only human, and if they have "missed" life's chances, they may have a "bitterly jealous" nature to see you succeed . So keep "Shtum" to everyone as you are changing !! The reason for this is that telling someone what you're manifesting, can dissipate the energy of your intentions . You probably already intuitively know that if you have a dream about to burst into reality, it's best to keep it a secret until something concrete happens. If you give something thought, you give it energy. If you give it energy, it eventually takes form. Moreover if you give something LOVE, it now has creative energy to make a miracle . Think of the miracle of a child being conceived through amazing LOVE energy, the highest form of physical love . So think positive, stay focused on your goals and you will succeed in CHANGING. When you want change in your life and because of a desire of LOVE and to be of service to GOD, spirit and humanity, then you can overcome any obstacles easily . That is why when one is "in love" one can do anything .
3. Pray & Cry כל השערים נעלוּ חוּץ משערי דמעוֹת "All the heavenly gates are closed except for the gates of tears" That's right - my advice is CRY !!! It works - if you really want a change, be honest with yourself and admit the regret in your life for the mistakes you have made and CRY for help !! Your eyes are the windows of your soul Your eyes are the windows of your soul, they are your souls window to see in this world, everything your soul sees is seen through your physical eyes, and when you cry this touches, opens and cleanses your soul . So have a good cry and pray, it always works ! 4. Learn to forgive Holding onto bitter resentment is the biggest blockage for progress . Hatred is the opposite to love . Love is the creative life giving energy . Hatred, resentment and jealousy are destructive, these emotions kills creative life energy and blocks destiny. עיכובים - Spiritual Blockages There is a force of energy in life that can block a persons destiny . This negative energy is created by one remaining attached to bitterness, jealousy, hatred and resentment . As hatred is simply the lowest form of love energy - hatred is love gone bad . It is therefore vital to ones life to FORGIVE everyone and everything that has happened in ones life and then detach oneself from any hurts, injustices and such negativity . Even if the person whom has hurt you is still full of lower vibrations against you, has not forgotten and continues to be hateful in their thoughts - that is THEIR problem . So long as you have forgiven them, let them go along their way in life, detach yourself away from them ( imagine that they are like poison to your body ) . Take the attitude that you no longer care what happens to them - DISCONNECT completely . ( As so often people desire to see revenge or justice done to others, which this hateful desire keeps them attached to these lower energies and blocks destiny ) . We shall discuss this more on "Health & Diet" page in comparing these bad people to a cancer that needs to be cut away from ones life to save ones life . Keep away from them and their sad way of life . Then their hate will have no affect on your life . (As we explained on the "Rescue page" by TRANSFERENCE people can affect - "freeload" - "dump on" other peoples lives and souls ) . No-one else in the whole world can block anyone else spiritually, unless the person allows the thoughts and energies in to destroy their creative loving life . So detach yourself and have 100% closure completely from these "lower people" . FORGIVE AND FORGET COMPLETELY The sign that you have successfully forgiven another person, is that when you think of them, you no longer have any hatred feelings . In fact you should have NO FEELINGS towards them at all . They mean NOTHING at all, not to you or your life . If you still feel some element of hatred or any emotions towards them, this is a sign that you have NOT disconnected from them and their evil ways, and THIS WILL HURT, POISON AND DESTROY YOUR LIFE AND SOUL . So simply forgive them in your mind thoughts , forget about them , don't even mention their name, and detach yourself from them completely . This is the Jewish prayer we say every night before going to sleep, and it is indeed a prayer said on a persons death bed, in the final preparation as the soul leaves this physical world .
Translated :- " Master of the Universe - I forgive everyone who has angered and upset me, or sinned against me, whether they did this physically, materialistically or disrespectfully. And whether they did this by accident or intentionally, with horrible evil thoughts or without thinking, whether they said the words or with actions, whether in this life or in previous lives ...... i forgive them... and please GOD do not punish or hurt them, do not bring any illness or anything bad against them as i forgive them completely ....... please GOD "
5. Learn to LOVE Love is the GOD - given creative life energy of this planet earth . We all arrive in this planet through sexual love of our parents, everything that is grown and produced in this world is done through LOVE . Love is the creative energy of planet earth . So make the decision to choose a life of LOVE and kindness, and then you will always feel the LOVE of GOD, attracting LOVE and happiness, and living life to your maximum potential . At that moment in your life when you feel the LOVE energy in your soul and in your heart, softening you to become full of LOVE and compassion then nothing else matters, and all your problems dissipate, one forgets sadness, hate, misery, loneliness etc all the emotions that BLOCK life . Instead one is full of loving thoughts and has a life vitality and aliveness with a true spiritual radiance of happiness and loving energy . Once one has been touched by this truly loving feeling it is like entering a different world, the hateful and problematic past is on another planet . (This is what we referred to as the "Golden Stage" - stage 6 on the page of change). Feeling the energy of true LOVE is truly a gift from GOD . And where there is LOVE, there is GOD . And where there is GOD's energy there is life, hope, faith and true happiness .
6. Learn to ACCEPT life and the changes with peace, love and happiness and LAUGH ! כל מאן דיעבד רחמנא ... לטב עבד Everything that HASHEM - GOD makes happen in the world is for the best . There is NOTHING that happens in our lives that happens by "chance" or "coincidence", everything happens as part of a divine plan of our destiny . The more you see that every event of the day happens for a reason, trying to understand that event on a spiritual level, will make each person recognize how wonderful life is . When one then learns this and accepts that everything happens with purpose for a specific lesson . In order to help us to see life clearly, thereby guiding our life to make the correct decisions and choices . One then begins to appreciate and love every moment of life and then with the love of life one then automatically accepts that everything happens for the good (even the unpleasant situations !!) . For example, one maybe heartbroken by a divorce, but in time and years later one my laugh and THANK GOD that you got out of that awful relationship, you were infact saved from such a horrible person . Even though at the time the emotional pain hurt . גם זוּ לטוֹבה Learn to accept that everything that happens - happens for the best LAUGHTER Laughter is the most powerful of healing and energy changing . The highest form of expressive happiness is laughter . Even something as silly as a cartoon, making someone laugh, is magnetic for creative loving life-energy . Laughing about some of the most painful times you have experienced in hindsight is a great way to heal the past and forgive anyone who caused the hurt . So have a really good laugh !!
SIGNS Throughout this page we have discussed CHANGE , but we have purposely deleted the subject of what a person "CHANGE into". Life has given the soul feelings, these feelings cannot be determined by words or described by logic . Each individual that has these uncomfortable feelings about their current situation in life, has these feelings for a reason . These are signs . No one can tell anyone what to do or what decisions to make, provided each individual is honest with themselves then they should listen to their feelings and look for the signs in life . When a person accepts the fact that everything happens for a reason, one usually sees and learns for oneself the directions and signposts of ones life . For example, if one has tried to live and settle in a new place, but nothing goes right, then its a clear sign it was a bad move . Likewise, sadly in our generation if a jewish woman / man falls in love with a non-jewish man / woman, it may last a few years, but everyone knows from experience that it will never last . Both people maybe very nice individuals, but in the soul and roots of each person is a completely different way of life . Second time lucky According to the spiritual teachings of the Sefer Tana Devei Eliyahu ( see www.eliyahuhanavi.org ) . The Spiritual law is "if it happens once - then it WILL happen a second time ". This spiritual law is learnt from the Torah, there are many examples , eg the tablets of stone given to Moshe at Mount Sinai were given twice, there have been two temples . Similarly everything in this world is in pairs . The number TWO makes a wholesomeness in this world we live in . Similarly by all our experiences in life, everything happens once , and then a second time . The second time opportunity is given to our souls in this life in order to perfect our souls existence . ( This is the principal of Sefer Tikunim - The book of corrections ) . Hence spirit law applies in "reading" the signs that occur in life . If one fails the first time , then one will succeed the second time . If however, the 2nd time fails, then one must read this as a BIG SIGN that either it will never work . Or one really needs to recognize that one must CHANGE in a big way . Third time lucky - Ofcourse !! If one has indeed listened to the signs and still determined to succeed, even though one has failed twice . Then ONLY if a person has changed their attitude significantly, analyzed carefully everything that has happened and understood why the failure has occurred . Rectified the intrinsic mistake, then according to spirit law - the 3rd time will be very lucky and permanently long lasting forever . (This is learnt from the spiritual knowledge that the 3rd temple will last forever -במהרה בימינוּ ) . אם בא אליך יסוּרים יפשפש במעשיך EVERYTHING happens for a reason . THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ACCIDENT If something doesn't go right in your life than ask yourself - "What is GOD and spirit world trying to teach me?" Only you can answer these questions for your life :- "What signs have I seen in my life, what signs am I ignoring ? " Is there a point in your life you would love to go back to and "get it right" ? Do you feel that life is stagnating or feel you are going around in circles ? Just remember everything happens for a reason and is a sign for YOU . Section 3 Spiritual understanding, knowledge and methods in gaining extra "Divine" and "Spiritual help" to change and succeed in life . In accordance with tradition as quoted from Jewish Tradition as passed down through thousands of years of history and clearly taught in Sefer Shinuyim . The tradition is to pray at the gravesites of Righteous People especially Famous Rabbis and Famous Rebbes . As we all believe in GOD and spirit world, then the best way to ask and receive extra special help from GOD and spirit world is by going to the gravesites of those good people you knew in your life , and of famous spiritual Rabbis and Rebbes .
The Importance of Visiting the Graves and graves of Famous Rabbis & Rebbes I quote from the Introduction of the Sefer Ben Ish Chai written by the Famous Mekubal Sefardi Rabbi in Bagdad - Rabbeinu Yosef Chaim . "For the whole year after my father died, Rabbeinu Eliyahu of Bagdad, I spent the whole day and night in thoughts prayers and learning, connecting my soul with his . And as his soul became enlightened with knowledge and understanding in the Olam Haneshamot - ( the world of spirit souls ) I also benefited from this knowledge ...... I was informed that I am a re-incarnated soul of the loyal servant of King David - Benyahu Ben Yoyoda .... I learnt much from my father in this year after his passing to Olam Ha'Emet ( the Spirit world ) that I call this Book - The Ben Ish Chai - Son of a living man . And I promise everyone, that if they wish to attain spiritual heights of purity of their souls, then go the graves of their ancestors, and of Holy Rabbis, and of specially righteous people " . It is well known that the Lubavitcher Rebbe went twice a week to the grave of his father-in-law the previous Lubavitcher Rebbe, and his wife, to ask for Divine help for Klal Yisroel . Many Chassidish people go every friday to pray at the graves of their Rebbes, and at any time they need help . The gravesite of anyone is the last physical connection that persons soul had with this physical world, hence the strength of the connection to their soul in spirit world is reconnected when one visits the gravesite . If you really need extra spiritual help - go and pray at a gravesite Most people are sometimes reluctant to speak openly to another human being and therefore it is so much easier to "open up truthfully" when one goes and prays to GOD at gravesites . Spiritually it always works and has always worked throughout the generations of the past 5000 years . From the bible - Torah, the first mention is told that Abraham went to pray at the grave of ADAM . Hence the Cave of Machpelah where Abraham, Izaac and Jacob - all the forefathers and mothers - Sarah Rivka and Leah are buried in Hebron is a well visited spiritual place of prayer by both Jews and Muslims . Similarly holy gravesites of Rabbi Akiva and other rabbis in Tiberias are extremely special . The famous gravesite of Yonosson Ben Uziel ( Yonatan Ben Uziel ) in Amuka, Israel, which is famous for the fact that anyone who is single and looking for their soulmate, comes to Amuka and prays, it is guaranteed the prayers will be answered within a year . "KVITLECH" - PRAYER REQUESTS WRITTEN ON PAPER "Kvitlech" - are prayer requests written on a piece of paper . One usually writes ones hebrew name and the name of ones mother, and ones prayer request on the paper . The tradition is to place this "note" in the cracks of western wall in jerusalem, as seen in the photos below .
Similarly, one writes these "kvitlech" notes at the graves of good people one has visited . At the grave tombs of really special rabbis there is even a hole to place these notes inside the tomb . SEGULA סגוּלה - Writing a request There is a famous tradition - "Segula" סגוּלה , especially amongst Sefardic - Oriental Jewish communities . That is to write a prayer request before going to sleep at night and to sleep with this paper under your pillow, or hold the paper in ones hand as one falls asleep . This is very powerful, and one will feel the amazing difference in the morning with some intuitive answers . Keep writing down your feelings and sleeping with this paper under your pillow, or in your hand for as long as you feel you need . ( see famous story of Reb Akiva about holding paper in your hand ) AND within 30 days you will feel the change . Coincidences and answers will come your way . And always remember to THANK GOD and your guardian angels . There are also some special "Kemaya" - printed texts of specially hand written on parchment of Holy writings, these have brought spiritual help to generations of Jewish people . Especially those written by spiritual people who give a spiritual protecting energy into the words they write . Spiritually, praying whilst lighting a candle has tremendous spiritual energy . Each person will have their own feeling as they light a candle, as one lights a candle whilst praying or lights a candle for the soul and remembering someone who has passed to spirit world you knew, or on a Famous Rabbis Yarzheit , this will help your prayers and you will feel a reassuring spiritual peaceful energy . There is ofcourse the strongest spiritual energy of the week, by lighting candles on friday evening . Throughout the whole world, friday evening is the end of the working week, and the void of materialistic energy at the end of the week should ideally be filled with 100% spiritual energy . ( Sadly most people miss the opportunity each week - and use friday nights to go out and "have a good time" - no wonder their lives are void spiritually ! ) A candle is more that just a symbol of the soul, a material physical candle burns with a lovely peaceful glow, turning itself into energy, then the physical candle disappears into the air . So too - the soul as it passes away from this world , no longer needs a physical body . Light a candle anytime Whenever you feel the need for some extra special spiritual help or in thanks for help that has been given, and always pray for the future of world of peace, love and spiritual growth . Closing ones eyes and praying According to kabbala halacha one should always close ones physical eyes when one prays the Shmone Esreh , the first line of the Shema and other exceedingly important prayers . The reason is simple , by closing ones physical eyes one is closing the physical materialistic world out and focusing on the spiritual aspects only . As we discuss on the next page of " positive thinking " , in bringing the spiritual energy to this physical world - ones soul energy needs to be at the highest level one can attain spiritually, this can be more easily attained in closing ones physical eyes .
Conclusion "We are all changing all the time" The whole world in this vast solar system is constantly moving, and everything on this wonderful planet is constantly moving and changing in accordance with nature, the seasons and a destiny guiding each individual person . Nothing occurs by accident, everything occurs in accordance to an amazing divine plan for the world and each individual ( as we have learnt from the lines on each persons hand is a destiny mapped out for each individual - no two persons palmistry lines are identical ).
As an anecdote on "Change" in the Talmud it says that :- כוֹס כיסא וכעסוֹ Do the easy one first , throw away your cup, get a decent cup !! And a nice crystal elegant glass for cold drinks. Test what the rabbis have told us , see the difference yourself . Stop drinking out of a throw away cup or straight from a can !! I assure you - you will feel the difference. And by making one small change, the rabbis tell us you are now setting sail to invoke and start with bigger changes . And משנה מקוֹם משנה מזל (meshane mokom- meshane mazel) Moving the place you live, changes your life, your fortune, and your destiny If a person wants to change, then change one of three things and from heaven, changes will come for the person - Change ones name, or change the place where one lives, (move home or country ), or change one's attitude / character /behaviour . שינוּי השם שינוּי המקוֹם שינוּי המעשים Try changing one of these and see the amazing difference . Everyone know that one always feels amazingly different when one goes away on holiday - this is just a taste of the potential one has to change ones life .
